Holly GolderFreedom Project Teacher Holly Golder Named 2014 Delaware History Teacher of the Year!

The Gilder-Lehrman Institute of American History has named Holly Golder of the Red Clay Consolidated School District’s Cab Calloway School as the newest state history teacher of the year.  “I am very honored to receive this prestigious award from Gilder Lehrman, and I am indebted to projects like the Teaching American History Freedom Project that has allowed teachers, like myself, to continue to grow professionally.”


Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History names Jill Szymanski the 2013 National History Teacher of the Year!

Jill Szymanski“I received this award largely as a result of my participation in the Teaching American History Freedom Project and the fact that I have tried to remain a lifelong learner,” Szymanski says. “My history instruction over the past three years has improved greatly and I attribute this growth to my work with the University of Delaware through the Teaching American History grant’s Freedom Project. The project has given me the time and resources to make important changes in my classroom practices.”
